The Roman Goddess Of Love

The Birth of Venus : By Sandro Botticelli

Venus was a major Roman Goddess principally associated with love and beauty, the equivalent of the Greek Goddess Aphrodite. Originally, a vegetation goddess and patroness of gardens and vineyards. Venus was born of the Sea and the Sky. Though there are many other great Goddesses associated with Love, Venus reigns as the supreme Goddess Of Love. Her true love was Mars, the god of war.

Venus was married to the graceless and lame Vulcan, the god of fire. Her true love was Mars but they cannot be together. True la, that's Love!
